This was the conversion of a lovingly developed garden and estate into an international corporate headquarters. The mansion and pool house were renovated into the CEO and executive staff quarters and employee dining area. A large office building, mirrored to reflect the heavily wooded site and thus becoming “invisible”, and a largely underground garage were “shoehorned” into the site for the senior officers and staff.
Our assignment was to design/build the campus outside the buildings, incorporating the existing garden and specimen plant material, that would be sympathetic to the gardens of the adjacent Dixon Gallery and Gardens.
Mrs. Ronald Reagan presented the CEO of Holiday Inn and us with a national landscape award in the East Room of the White House.
