This was the original Main Street Mall and built when downtown was virtually abandoned at night. We lost a five dollar bet to the  City of Memphis COO that we wouldn’t see one person when we left a black-tie dinner at the Summit Club, then on the top floor of the new First TN Bank Building . We saw one—later to be called “homeless person”. All of our work was replaced by the present mall and trolley lines.
